Health Treatments

 

Overview

This screen enables you to view, add and manage Health Treatments and associated Purchases. Health Treatments shown here: 

  • Can be added to Animal or Non-ID Group records in any of the Animal Data Entry screens​​

  • Can prompt expiration treatments and low inventory alerts

Notes:

  • Health Treatments can also be added to the Farm through the Web Portal by these mechanisms (all will be available on the tablet after sync):

    • Using the Health Treatments screen (Purchases can also be added using this screen)

    • Vets can add Health Treatments to a Farm from their Account list using an administrative screen

    • If Vets add a Treatment event to the Farm Plan for a Farm and the Health Treatment is not on the Farm listing, it will be added automatically

  • Health Treatment Purchases can still be administered to animals in other screens if:

    • They are expired​

    • There is no current quantity

 

Add Health Treatments

The first time the Health Treatments button is selected from the Home screen after installation, it will present the following screen.

To add Health Treatments on the tablet application:

1. Select the ADD HEALTH TREATMENT button

2. This will open a wizard to enter:

  • Health Treatment Name (required) - Enter the name of the Health Treatment from the label or invoice. 

  • Unit of Measure (required) - Select from the list. This selection will determine the units of measure available to select from when adding purchases or setting dosage amounts administered for animals. 

  • Meat WHP (optional - set to zero if not set) - this is the meat withholding period on the label of the health treatment. It drives the ability to filter and draft animals based on whether they are in or out of their withholding period

  • Milk WHP (optional - set to zero if not set) - this is the milk withholding period on the label of the health treatment. It drives the ability to filter and draft animals based on whether they are in or out of their withholding period 

  • Produce WHP (optional - set to zero if not set) - this is the withholding period on the label of the health treatment for a variety of scenarios such and wool harvesting or handling. It drives the ability to filter and draft animals based on whether they are in or out of their withholding period

  • Use Instructions - (optional) - enter any use instructions for the Health Treatment

  • Label - (optional) - enter the link to the label for the Health Treatment. NOTE: This field will only accept a web address URL

  • Alert Quantity  (optional) - this will enable red type indicator if on the Health Treatment line if the current inventory of all purchases falls below this level. Additionally, if a user enables this notification, they will receive an email notification when the current quantity falls below the alert level. 

3. After selecting COMPLETE in the Review screen, the wizard will be removed and the Health Treatment details will be added to a new row below the header. If the Treatment Name and Unit of Measure entered match a previous entry, the system will not create a new entry but will move the matching entry to the top of the list.

 

Add Purchase

After a Health Treatment is added to the system, individual purchase details can be added to it. To do this:

  1. Select the row overflow icon (3 small dots at the end of the row)

  2. Select the Add Purchase menu item

  3. This will open a wizard to add the following purchase details:

    • Expiration Date​
    • Batch Number
    • Purchase Quantity (the Unit of Measure established for the Health Treatment will be shown in the title)
    • Review
  4. After selecting COMPLETE in the Review screen, the wizard will be removed and the purchase details will be added ​to a new row at the top of the history table that can be accessed by selecting the expand arrow at the end of the Health Treatment row. If the Batch Number and entry date match an existing Purchase for the Health Treatment, it will be considered a duplicate and disregarded. 

 

Edit Alert Quantity

To edit an Alert Qty:

  1. Select the row overflow icon (3 small dots at the end of the row)

  2. Select Edit Alert Qty from the menu 

  3. This will present a numerical keypad to enter an updated quantity. After entering the value, simply select the SET button which will remove the keypad and update the value shown.

Details

Selecting this will show a screen with the following items:

  • Use Instructions on how to use the Health Treatment if it was added on creation or edited using the web portal screens.

  • A link to the label information of the Health Treatment if it was added on creation or edited using the web portal screens.

 

Disable/Enable Health Treatments

Depending on farming practices, the list of Health Treatments may grow very large over the course of a few years. To help manage this, we have provided the ability to disable and enable Health Treatments. Once a Health Treatment is disabled, it will not be available to add to an animal record in any of the Animal Data Entry screens.

To Disable or Enable a Health Treatment:

  1. Select the row overflow icon (3 small dots at the end of the row)

  2. Select Disable - this will remove the Health Treatment from the list

  3. To see all disabled Health Treatments,  select the three small dots at the top right of the screen and select Show Disabled

  4. This will show disabled Health Treatments, these can be easily differentiated based on light gray row shading
  5. To enable disabled items, select the three dots at the end of the row - this will show Enable​ if the item is currently disabled
  6. Select this and the Health Treatment will be enabled (indicated by white row background and Disable vs. Enable row menu option)
 

Edit Quantity

The system will track the dosage quantities administered to animals and deduct these from the Purchase Qty to show Current Qty for each Purchase. To accommodate discrepancies caused by a variety of factors, the Current Qty can be updated at any point. Once updated, the system will use this as the new baseline to deduct dosage quantities from going forward. 

To edit a Current Qty:

  1. Select the row overflow icon (3 small dots at the end of the Purchase row)

  2. Select Edit Qty from the menu 

  3. This will present a numerical keypad to enter an updated quantity. The top of the keypad will display the acceptable range for entries. These will be limited to a range from 0 to the original Purchase Qty. After entering the value, simply select the SET button which will remove the keypad and update the value shown.

 

Disable/Enable Purchases

For frequently used Health Treatments, the list of Purchases may grow very large over the course of a few years. To help manage this, we have provided the ability to disable and enable Purchases. Once a Purchase is disabled, it will not be available to add to an animal record in any of the Animal Data Entry screens.

To Disable or Enable a Purchase:

  1. Select the row overflow icon (3 small dots at the end of the row)

  2. Select Disable - this will remove the Purchase from the list and the Current Qty will be removed from the calculation of Current Qty for the Health Treatment.

  3. To see all disabled Purchases, select the three small dots at the top right of the screen and select Show Disabled

  4. This will show disabled Purchases, these can be easily differentiated based on (how will we differentiate?)
  5. To enable disabled items, select the three dots at the end of the row - this will show Enable​ if the item is currently disabled
  6. Select this and the Purchase will be enabled and the Current Qty will be added to the Current Qty for the Health Treatment
